Visa-free travel to Cambodia for Thai citizens
Yes — Thai citizens get 30-day visa-free entry to Cambodia under the ASEAN agreement. You don't need a visa, BUT you DO need the mandatory e-Arrival form filed within 7 days of arrival at Techo International Airport (KTI) in Phnom Penh or Siem Reap Angkor International Airport (SAI). Because all Thailand–Cambodia land borders (including Aranyaprathet–Poipet and Hat Lek–Cham Yeam) have been closed since 2025, travellers between Thailand and Cambodia must travel by air. We handle the e-Arrival filing FREE for ASEAN passport holders — submit your passport and flight details from Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket or Pattaya, and we return the QR-code confirmation by email.
Multiple entries are permitted within the visa-free window. No Cambodia visa application, no fees, no embassy queues. You walk up to the immigration desk, hand over your passport, and get stamped through.
What you still need before you fly:
Valid Thai passport (6+ months from arrival)
Completed e-Arrival form (we handle this for you)
Return or onward travel ticket (sometimes spot-checked)
Proof of accommodation (occasionally requested)
We handle the e-Arrival form for you. It's the one piece most travellers miss, and Cambodian immigration won't let you through without it.

Why you're going
Things to Do in Cambodia for Thai Travelers
Thai travellers form one of the largest ASEAN visitor groups to Cambodia, with deep historical, cultural and culinary overlap — shared Theravada Buddhism, related Khmer-Thai temple architecture (Sukhothai and Ayutthaya echoes in Angkor's Bayon), and overlapping cuisine make the trip feel close to home. Plan 5–10 days to cover Angkor Wat at sunrise, Phnom Penh's Royal Palace and Tuol Sleng, and a southern coast stretch on Koh Rong, with Bangkok Airways direct BKK–SAI or BKK–KTI flights keeping travel time under 90 minutes.

Pro tips
Cambodia Travel Tips for Thai Citizens
Practical advice from travellers who've been — currency, connectivity, weather, and the eVisa print rule that catches everyone out at Cambodian immigration.
Currency
US dollars are accepted almost everywhere alongside Cambodian Riel. You do not need to exchange currency before flying — small change comes back in Riel.
Best time to visit
November to April (dry season). May to October brings monsoon rains — southern coastal regions are most affected. November to February is the sweet spot for Angkor Wat.
Connectivity
Buy a local SIM at Phnom Penh or Siem Reap airport ($2–3 USD). Most foreign phones work on GSM. Metfone and Smart are the recommended carriers — both have airport kiosks.
Health
No mandatory vaccinations. Hepatitis A and Typhoid are commonly recommended. Drink bottled water only — even in major hotels. Carry mosquito repellent for evening visits to temples.
Print your eVisa
Print 2 copies of your approved eVisa on A4 paper. Cambodian immigration does NOT accept mobile screenshots. We email PDF-ready files with print instructions.
Getting around
Tuk-tuks are everywhere — agree the fare first. The PassApp and Grab apps give metered, cashless rides in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. Domestic flights link the major cities.

Do Thai citizens need a visa to enter Cambodia?
No. Thai passport holders are visa-exempt for Cambodia for stays up to 30 days under the ASEAN visa exemption agreement. You need a Thai passport valid 6+ months, proof of onward travel, and the mandatory Cambodia e-Arrival form filed within 7 days before arrival.
How long can Thai citizens stay in Cambodia visa-free?
Thai passport holders can stay in Cambodia for up to 30 days per entry under the ASEAN visa exemption. Multiple entries within passport validity are allowed — convenient for Bangkok–Phnom Penh (KTI) and Bangkok–Siem Reap (SAI) flights and weekend trips to Angkor Wat.
Is the Cambodia e-Arrival form mandatory for Thai travellers?
Yes. The Cambodia e-Arrival form (CeA) is mandatory for every Thai traveller — even though visa-exempt. It is a pre-arrival online declaration covering immigration, customs, and health. Submit within 7 days before arrival at Techo International (KTI) or Siem Reap Angkor International (SAI). We file it free for ASEAN citizens.
Can Thai citizens cross the Poipet land border into Cambodia?
No — all Thailand–Cambodia land borders (including Aranyaprathet–Poipet and Hat Lek–Cham Yeam) have been closed since 2025. Thai travellers visiting Cambodia must fly into Techo International Airport (KTI) in Phnom Penh or Siem Reap Angkor International Airport (SAI), where ASEAN visa-free entry and the e-Arrival QR code apply.
Are there direct flights from Bangkok to Cambodia for Thai citizens?
Yes. Bangkok Airways, Thai Airways, Thai AirAsia, and Cambodia Angkor Air run direct flights from Suvarnabhumi (BKK) and Don Mueang (DMK) to Techo International (KTI), Siem Reap Angkor International (SAI), and Sihanoukville (KOS). Flight time is around 1 hour.
Can Thai citizens visit Angkor Wat on the visa-free 30-day entry?
Yes. Angkor Wat tourism is the most common reason Thai citizens visit Cambodia. The 30-day visa-free ASEAN entry covers temple visits, sightseeing in Siem Reap, and Tonle Sap excursions. Only the Cambodia e-Arrival form and the separate Angkor Pass (purchased on site) are required.
How can Thai citizens extend their stay in Cambodia past 30 days?
The 30-day visa-free ASEAN entry cannot be extended in-country. Thais wanting to stay longer must either exit and re-enter Cambodia by air to reset the 30 days, or apply in advance for a Cambodian tourist (T) or business (E) eVisa.
Do Thai children and minors need their own Cambodia e-Arrival form?
Yes. Every Thai traveller, including infants on a Thai passport, requires an individual e-Arrival submission. We file family group submissions free for ASEAN passport holders flying into Techo International (KTI) or Siem Reap Angkor International (SAI).
